Suspected stolen goods worth 70,000 and illegal drugs have been seized during two raids.

Police arrested a man after cosmetics and health care products were seized when a search warrant was executed in the Southdown area of Old Town, Eastbourne, on Monday.

Cannabis resin worth around £500 was also seized.

Inspector Charlie Connaughton said: “Together with our partners we are firmly committed to continuing our efforts to keep Eastbourne as safe and secure as possible and will look to disrupt and prosecute anyone who is intent on leading a dishonest lifestyle.

“Local Eastbourne officers will continue to work together to target individuals intent on committing criminal acts, including anti-social behaviour that impacts on community safety.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have been subject to any recent ‘bulk’ thefts of cosmetics or health care products. I would urge anyone with information of suspicious activity to contact police immediately."

A 50-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, both from Eastbourne, were arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs and released on bail until August 30 pending further enquiries.

A 48-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and was also released on bail until August 30, pending further enquiries.
