A 20-year-old who beat up a teenager has escaped jail.
George Slater punched and kicked the 17-year-old, causing bruising and a deep cut to his head.
He was jailed for nine months suspended for two years and ordered to do 200 hours unpaid work.
He has been given a curfew to remain at home for 107 days between 9.30pm and 5am and must not enter Rye for a year between 10pm and 5am.
Slater, of Wittersham Road, Iden, Rye, has also been banned from entering bars in Rye for nine months.
Inspector James Scott said: "Tackling anti-social behaviour is a priority of the neighbourhood policing team in Rother and we will continue to work together with partners and the local community to eliminate these problems. We will not tolerate violence of any nature and will pursue a criminal conviction to bring justice to victims."
