The Argus: fringe_2011_logo_red_thumbThis trio of young women represents unexpected, unbridled fun. In an hour-long series of hilarious sketches they enacted everyday scenarios so familiar that they generally pass us by. The content was quirky and sharply observed. Faced with the sheer banality of ourselves, we laughed to tears.

Their opening sketch was exemplary: nothing but the three of them having a cup of tea and making small talk.

“Lovely cup of tea, nothing like a good cup of tea,” they shared, all staring hard in to the distance as though seeking and coming up with inspiration from thin air. “Lovely cup of tea”...

You had to be there.

Their timing was impeccable – no sooner had one sketch finished than another memorable one began – all three on stage together, performing roles which are surely familiar to any girl: at a night club, one self-consciously plucking up courage to dance around her handbag, one energetically mouthing every word of the disco tune booming out, another letting it all rip on the dance floor like there’s no tomorrow. Testament to the universality of their humour, the guys in the audience were laughing just as much as the girls.

The performance received hearty applause – more please!
