Police are looking for a knife attacker this morning after a man was stabbed in the chest in a house in Hove.
The incident happened shortly after midnight in a property in the Goldstone Villas area.
A knife has been found.
The 36-year-old victim has been taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital. He is now in a stable condition.
Detective Sergeant Helen Paine of Brighton and Hove CID said: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw a man aged between 35 to 40-years-old with a shaven head, wearing blue jeans and no shirt leaving leaving Goldstone Villas shortly after midnight. He was carrying a black holdall.
"The attack happened inside the property and we believe the victim knew his attacker." Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 8 of 3/6.
