Dinosaurs are preparing to stomp through a city centre.

A T-Rex, Baryonyx, Triceratops and Ceratopsid will all be at Churchill Square shopping centre in Brighton from Friday.

The exhibition is being put on by the Natural History Museum who are warning ‘come to the square – if you dare’.

There will be a real T-Rex skull on display.

Alongside him will be the 28ft long Baryonyx with huge claws and finely serrated teeth.

Slightly more mild-mannered is the Oviraptor. But what it lacked in ferocity the bird-like dinosaur made up for in speed.

There will also be a roaring Triceratops, which lived around 65-68million years ago and the lesser known armour-plated Ankylosaurus, an impressive herbivore with plates of bone embedded into its skin to protect against large prey.

Maren Krumdieck, part of the Touring Exhibitions team at the Natural History Museum, said: “Dinosaur Encounter is the Natural History Museum’s touring dinosaur exhibition with the biggest variety of dinosaur species.

“The models move and look scarily lifelike as the scientists who work at the Natural History Museum have fed into their development.

“The highlight of the exhibition is the Tyrannosaurus Rex which is more than six metres long and four metres tall and will impress especially the children amongst the visitors.”

The free Dinosaur Encounter exhibition runs from July 1 to September 4.
