Thousands of people enjoyed an annual carnival day and procession.
The Woodingdean Carnival was held on Saturday and more than 260 people took part in a parade through the streets.
The walkers and vehicles were accompanied by Newhaven Youth Marching Band, as the crowds cheered them on.
Theatre Express was named the winner of the commercial category in the procession and Oak Cottage Nursery won the non-commercial category.
Entertainment at the carnival was provided by groups including Frolicking Foxes Morris Dancers, Brighton School of Singing and Woodingdean Judo Club.
Visitors also had the chance to find out more about the history of the area at Woodingdean Community Centre.
The event, which has been going since 1967, raised funds for Woodingdean swimming pool.
John Homewood, who organises the festival along with John Downs, said: “It was a good turnout considering the weather, which was quite misty and windy.
“The procession was very good, as always, and more than 2,000 people attended, so we are very pleased.”
