This is the face of a man jailed for a year today after downloading vile images of child porn.

Steven Povey, 39, made indecent images of children ranging across varying levels of seriousness.

At the time of the alleged offences he was living at South Ash, Steyning, but he now lives at Downland Park, The Street, Bramber, near Steyning.

Povey, sentenced at Lewes Crown Court, admitted 12 offences relating to the making of indecent images of children and four possession offences related to extreme pornography.

Detective Inspector Alison Eaton said: “This case shows that for every indecent image of a child online there is a victim.

“In downloading these images, including ones at the highest level of indecency, Povey too has actively played a part in perpetuating the abuse and exploitation of children.

“The internet is not a space giving anonymity. If you choose to download a child abuse image, it could be traced back to you by police, as it was with Povey.”

Povey also received a life time Sexual Prevention Order and will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.
