A summer of protests is being planned for Brighton and Hove.
On Thursday (30) protesters are expected to flood the Level, Brighton in support of a one-day walkout by teachers and lecturers.
Less than a month later the Level will once again be filled with protesters campaigning against cuts to benefits.
This week's action, called “Defend Pensions, Jobs and Pay: Support Public Sector Strike Action” and is due to start at 10.30am.
A spokesman organising the protest said: “Teachers, lecturers and civil servants are preparing to take strike action to defend pensions, jobs and pay.
“Public sector spending did not cause the financial crisis and the government's plans to attack our pensions and conditions are not helping the economy.”
Brighton Benefits March has organised the Don't Cut Benefits rally and march for midday on Saturday, July 23.
