I WAS shocked to find a word put into my mouth during your story about Brighton and Hove’s decade stint as a city (The Argus, June 25).

You cite me as saying “different to” when in fact I am one of those people who favours “different from”.

What’s more, Simon Fanshawe also appears to say “different to”.

However, as I only know him by reputation, I can’t be sure if this is genuine Fanshawe-speak, or if he shares Hove’s taste in prepositions.
