A motorcyclist has died after a road accident with a car.
Both motorists were airlifted to hospitals in London after the incident on the A21 near Battle yesterday.
Police confirmed the 66-year-old from Hastings who was riding a red Honda motorcycle died this morning.
Officers were called to the A21 at the junction with Marley Lane, Whatlington, near Battle, at about 10.30am following the collision, which also involved a green Volkswagen.
An 81-year-old man from London remains in hospital with a head injury this morning in a serious condition.
The road was closed for several hours while the victims were treated and removed from the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Sandgate.
