A man is fighting for his life following a crash in West Sussex.

The 67-year-old suffered serious injuries following a collision on the A285 near Goodwood yesterday.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “A black Volkswagen travelling northbound collided with a blue Mercedes travelling southbound shortly after 4.20pm.

“The 67-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen, from Farnham, Surrey, was taken by air ambulance to Kings College Hospital, London following the collision.

“The 63-year-old driver of the Mercedes and his 60-year-old female passenger, both from Maidenhead, Berkshire, suffered slight injuries and were treated at St Richards Hospital.

“Officers investigating the cause of the collision would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident by calling 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Henbury.”
