Brighton Race Course Carboot Sale restarted last weekend with an 50 pence entrance fee. Previously, it had been free after complaints at the gate that it had not advertised as having an entrance fee.
Now, all buyers will charged ten bob, though kids get in for free.
Car parking is free, either at the grassed area at the front of the Race Course or at the back, off Manor Hill. There are a wide variety of goods on sale, including crafty mirrors.
There will also be boot sales on every Wednesday from 6th July onwards. Both will have the same fee, described on the web site www.brightoncarbootsale.co.uk as an "administation fee" (sic).
Both the Argus and the Leader adverts do not mention the new administration fee though, which might lead to a Stewards’ enquiry.
