AS A supporter of Brighton Swimming Club it is with great shame that I read of 70-year-old Henry Law’s expulsion from the club.
I understand that Henry’s suggestion to separate the sea swimming sections from the pool section would not be a popular one and am aware it would be greeted with a wall of negativity.
However all clubs have to evolve, change and move forward and he should have been allowed to express his opinions to all.
Without dialogue between all sections and members of the club, no development can take place.
Of course, the committee state they want to put this matter behind them as surely they must be embarrassed about their treatment of this man.
However they must understand they now have to work to unite all sections of the club and try to restore its reputation.
They should accept that errors have been made in the treatment of Henry Law and look to themselves to change.
