A man was rescued by a lifeboat after becoming trapped on an undercliff when the tide came in.
The man, who has not been named, was stranded in Seaford yesterday, a Solent Coastguard spokesman said.
He said: “Kayakers spotted the man and called the emergency services.”
He reminded people to check tide times before they went for walks along coastal stretches.
Previously people have had to be rescued from further along the coast at Birling Gap in Eastbourne.
