A mother showed no emotion when she walked into a police station and told staff she had killed her children, a court was told today.
Fiona Donnison appeared pale and out of it after approaching the counter at Heathfield Police Station on the morning of January 27 of last year, a jury at Lewes Crown Court was told.
Donnison, who is charged with murdering her children Harry, three, and Elise, two, at their rented home in Lightwater, Surrey, had spent the previous night at her former marital home in Sheepsetting Lane, Cross In Hand, Heathfield, while her children’s bodies lay in holdalls in the boot of her car.
Post-mortem results showed that they had suffered injuries consistent with asphyxiation and were likely to have been suffocated in their sleep.
Donnison, 45, denies two counts of murder. She is in custody. The trial continues.
