Arty students made a real team effort to create a school mosaic.
The artwork was designed and created by students from Cardinal Newman School in The Upper Drive, Hove, to commemorate its 40th anniversary celebrations as Brighton’s first comprehensive.
The school’s first mosaic was designed by eight Year 9 art students and was made by more than 130 other Year 9 students.
The project was organised by artist Rebecca Penketh, a senior teaching assistant at Cardinal Newman.
It took about 80 hours to create and headteacher Malvina Sanders put the final piece of the mosaic in place.
The tiles for the project were donated by Mastertiles in Brighton.
