Two men have been charged after attacking a passerby in the street.
Police say the 20-year-old victim was walking in Crawley Road, in Horsham, at just after 11.30pm yesterday when he was attacked by two men.
Officers arrived during the attack and used pepper spray to restrain one of the attackers before arresting both men.
Kieren Blunden, 25, of no fixed address, and Benito Salvia, 22 of South Holmes Road, Horsham, have been charged with with attempted robbery, assault and assaulting a police officer and will appear before Crawley magistrates on Thursday July 28.
The victim was treated at Crawley Hospital for a cut to his head. He has since been released.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault to contact DC Matt Wilson on 0845 6070999 quoting serial 1956 of 13/07/11.
