Everywhere I go there is election fever, with much speculation about how Brighton and Hove City Council will shape up next May. The general view is there is everything to play for.
Some wards could go several ways so of one thing we can be sure - there will be many twisted ankles and chapped fingers as candidates contend with basement steps and recalcitrant letter-boxes during leaflet-laden quests to convince voters they alone deserve an X by their name on the ballot-form.
This naturally leads one to ask in which ward and under what aegis will Simon Fanshawe seek votes so he might find a platform as a councillor to air his views about the future of the city?
What a golden opportunity to show his mettle.
Will he seize it?
