Chris Kift emails: "The Bristol Estate stands to the east of Brighton and is 50 years old in 2007. The community association wants to celebrate its golden jubilee by producing a book or website about the estate.

"If any past or present residents have any photos or stories from the estate, could they please get in contact. I have been told of street parties and other events so somebody must have some photographs that could be used.

"The estate consists of high and low-rise flats and is one of the smallest estates in the city.

It was often forgotten by the authorities as it is tucked up behind the Royal Sussex County Hospital on top of a steep hill - but with the most outstanding views.

The residents are a complete cross-section of the community and are now becoming active with a community association and are making improvements to the estate, with the help of Brighton and Hove City Council.

"Any information will be appreciated."
