Robert Eaton, an avid Brighton and Hove Albion supporter, was one of the 67 Britons who died in the terrorist attacks on the twin towers of the World Trade Centre in New York on September 11, 2001.
The Robert Eaton Memorial Fund came together with a special charity football match in November 2001, when supporters of Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace put aside fierce rivalry to play in Robert's honour.
The fund supports youngsters of five to 16 years old who otherwise may not have the opportunity to play football.
It has given a three-year funding package to Los Peladitos from Queen's, New York, for 230 underprivileged Hispanic children.
Recently, it has given support and funding to five football clubs in the Brighton and Hove area and a club in Croydon.
The total raised from matches, donations and auctions is now in excess of £40,000 and the fund is about to launch an on-line auction.
This fund has given pleasure to hundreds of children who may not have had the opportunities to play football. What better way to honour Robert Eaton's memory.
