The owners of a fast juice bar which can serve up to 80 freshly-squeezed drinks an hour is opening a second shop in London's most famous shopping street.

Stewart and Joanna Conway, who opened Fruit Fix in Bond Street, Brighton in June last year, are gearing up to serve fruit juice to the throngs on Oxford Street. The bar, opposite Selfridges, opens at the end of September.

Fruit Fix has been a big hit in Brighton. Turnover for the first year was almost £200,000.

Joanna and Stewart are confident of similar success in London.

All the fruit used is freshly prepared and served in front of the customer in a state-of-the-art juicing pod which can make more than one drink a minute.

Fruit Fix is being backed by two private investors, Kate Burns, former managing director of Google and Philippe Augier managing director of UK importer Midifruit.

Mr Augier's involvement in the business means Fruit Fix gets fruit delivered twice a week from the New Covent Garden Market.

Stewart and Joanna plan to expand the business rapidly.

They hope to open another bar in Convent Garden by the end of the year and ten in total in the next two years but intend to remain Brighton-based.

Stewart, 33 said: "We know our concept works and feel that Oxford Street is the perfect location for our next juice bar. There is lots of competition and customers are discerning. They want their drinks to be served speedily."

Joanna, 32, said: "We are at the less busy end of Oxford Street, but where a lot of office workers mingle, so we are confident trade will be strong."

Joanna and Stewart have backgrounds in marketing.

Joanne used to work for Airmile and Stewart worked at investment bank Merrill Lynch.
