Police have been given 36 hours to question men arrested in connection with a shooting in a cornershop.
Caesar Zarate was shot in the face as he worked in Margery Road Stores, Hove, at 10.30am on Monday.
Investigating officers interviewed witnesses at the scene and later carried out searches in several properties across the city.

A spokeswoman for the police said they were questioning three suspects from Brighton and Hove.
Mr Zarate, who lives in the Preston Park area of Brighton, was yesterday still recovering in hospital.
The injuries to his face and body are not thought to be life-threatening.
