Reading your article regarding the parking changes to two zones (The Argus, September 8), I have to say I agree with Councillor Keith Taylor.
I am a resident living in zone N/M and I have a car which is used for travelling out of Brighton and Hove on a regular basis.
However, when I am not out of town, my car is rarely used, for the simple reason I cannot park in other zones.
This is perfect, as the best way for me to get around town is by cycling or walking - good exercise and no pollution. On occasions, when feeling lazy, I have wanted to drive into town but the current system deters me.
If they make the changes, many more people will drive from the fringes of the zone to the centre.
It does appear to go against the idea of encouraging less congestion and pollution.
As it is right now, I believe it to be a good incentive to use the buses, taxis or, better still, walking or cycling.
