With regards to Patcham High School's new uniform (The Argus, September 6), it is a casual style I hope more schools will follow - but how fresh and relaxed it looks.
I sense this is because the children themselves were involved in its design - a great step forward.
A child wearing a uniform they feel some ownership of will feel more at ease and happy which means, in turn, their intelligence will come more readily into play and help with their learning.
For the same reason, the uniform may also help eliminate bullying and truancy.
