Congratulations to Fishersgate Community First School, which was 70 years old last week.
The children were given a special assembly in which they were shown how the school used to look and were also read a small piece from an old school journal.
This was followed up with a school photo in the playground. It was a lovely celebration which I felt honoured to be part of.
The school's future will be under discussion at the upcoming Schools Organisation Committee meeting, on Friday, September 22, at Shoreham Community Centre.
If anyone would like to come along with us to help support our school, please contact me at the email address below.
Let us hope the right decisions are made and Fishersgate Community First School keeps the heart of Fishersgate beating.
