According to a new report from our Government, work is the key to health and long life. Surely this depends on whether or not a person enjoys their job.
It must also assume workers escape an early grave from an industrial accident or become seriously ill due to stress. The report fails to state the differences between traditional men's and women's work.
But why have generations of women lived longer than men?
Most women still live longer than men, despite many giving up work decades before retirement age.
Prime Minister Tony Blair looks ill after ten years in his stressful job but the Queen Mother lived to be 102.
Did she ever do a real day's work in her life?
