A “HARD to reach” Muswell Hill bus stop may be moved after safety tests were carried out.
Negotiations are ongoing over possibly relocating the W7 stop currently a little way down the hill to the northern edge of the roundabout, outside Boots and Giraffe.
Councillor Nilgun Canver, Haringey Council’s cabinet member for environment, said: “We have listened to passengers’ concerns about the W7 bus stop, which we understand can be hard to reach for people with mobility problems or those with pushchairs.
“We are exploring the possibility of relocating the stop to the roundabout, and the recent tests gave us the chance to measure how the new stop might impact on traffic, visibility and safety.”
Haringey Council is in talks with Transport for London (TfL) and bus operator Metroline over the possible move and Cllr Canver said “further detailed studies” would be needed.
The tests covered motorist visibility and safety for pedestrians, bus drivers and bus passengers and there will be more in September.
