Concerning the "skate park moaners" (The Argus, September 13), it is perhaps ironic that persons objecting to a seafront skate park are possibly wearing skate shoes.
Since the inception of skateboard culture in the mid-Seventies, its contribution to society has been vast.
Many related specialist stores adorn our coast and most High Street shops stock skate wear.
To many, skateboarding is a way of life and a meeting space which can encourage devotion to fitness and skills.
It has proven not to be a "fad".
How do I know this?
Because, while I am past 40, I can still still be seen slalom skating on Hove seafront.
