A cannabis factory was discovered in a disused church hall.
The former Plymouth Brethren hall, behind Bulkington Avenue, Worthing, was being used to grow about 50 plants.
Sussex Police raided the building shortly after 9am yesterday. Scenes of crime officers spent the day working at the scene but no-one was arrested.
The windowless building had been converted into a sophisticated cannabis factory, lined with reflective foil.
The hall was built in a space between Bulkington Avenue, Nutbourne Avenue and St Thomas’s Road, before being bought by the Plymouth Brethren, a strict Christian group whose members do not watch television or listen to music.Sussex Police did not reveal how they knew the cannabis factory was there.
Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.
