A man is due to be sentenced for making a hoax phone call claiming a bomb was at one of two major British airports, including Heathrow, following a bust-up with his wife.

Kevin Flynn, 31, called police with a false threat on July 31, saying a bomb was being taken on a New York-bound aircraft at either Heathrow or Gatwick airport.

He made the anonymous call in Bognor in a bid to ground a flight his wife was due to board following a row with her.

Flynn, of Wellington Road, Bognor, pleaded guilty to making the call when he appeared at Worthing Magistrates' Court in August.

He is on bail and is due to be sentenced at Chichester Crown Court today.
