A question mark hangs over the future of a £100 million regeneration project after the collapse of a development firm.
The scheme to transform the Sackville Road trading estate in Hove into homes, offices and a supermarket around a public square was approved in 2010.
However, the proposal has received a setback after administrators were called in to oversee part of the Parkridge property development group.
Those acting for the owners of the site have said they will continue to work to bring the project forward before planning permission expires in two years time.
The scheme, dubbed Sackville Place, was for 92 homes, shops, 5,300sq metres of office space, restaurants and a supermarket, all built above an underground car park.
It would replace the existing 1980s units.
