A broken down train is causing delays of up to an hour on the Brighton to London mainline.
A spokesman for Network Rail confirmed the incident took place near Burgess Hill just after midday today.
The train has been removed but delays of up to 60 minutes between Brighton and Three Bridges are expected until at least 4pm.
