I ATTENDED a protest at Happy Valley Park in Woodingdean on Sunday, October 9.

Brighton and Hove City Council has launched a consultation on travellers’ facilities in the city, which is of concern to some residents in the area.

Don’t the people running this authority know lots of football games are played there, dog walkers use the park and a brand new play area has just been built? If this site gets the go-ahead, we can kiss goodbye to all this.

Woodingdean residents who pay their taxes will not want to go there.

AFTER attending the meeting at Happy Valley park, I felt very strongly about a possible travellers’ site here.

Why should the people of Woodingdean lose this local park to these people when there are more appropriate sites on the outskirts of Brighton that won’t affect as many residents?

There are very few amenities in Woodingdean at present and to have one taken away would be very unfair on the people of Woodingdean.

We are the forgotten people of Brighton, with a poor bus service already. Please acknowledge that the people of woodingdean are important by listening to our protests.
