HAVING recently visited the Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham to see the excellent Richard Durrant in concert, I was dismayed to read that the centre is struggling to survive (The Argus, October 8).
I am not local to Shoreham, but its value and contribution to the whole community is clear to see by simply walking into the main reception and cafe bar area.
A number of noted local artists exhibit there and it always seems a wide variety of concerts, comedy and cultural entertainment is taking place there.
Fans of Brighton and Hove Albion will be pleased to hear that Attila The Stockbroker is often involved in organising and performing gigs there.
So, come on Shoreham and the wider Sussex arts community – get together to ensure this wonderful local centre continues to flourish.
