SNOWY scenes make up this year’s Argus Appeal charity Christmas cards.

Each picture is a Sussex scene and has been taken by one of our photographers.

Are on sale from Wednesday (October 19) at the customer services desk on the first floor of Churchill Square shopping centre, Brighton, 1 Stop Travel, Old Steine, Brighton, and Forfars shops.

Elsa Gillio, Argus Appeal co-ordinator, said: “The cards are smaller than last year and there are two more in the pack.

“When we asked people what they would like to see, they asked for smaller cards to keep the cost of postage lower. We have also kept the price exactly the same.

“Every single penny goes to the Argus Appeal and we can do that because the people who sell them for us do not charge us and the printing is supported by Legal & General.”

In previous years Argus Appeal money has been donated to Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, the Martlets Hospice, Brighton Housing Trust, Albion in the Community, Hove YMCA and Down’s View School in Brighton.

Tina Dallorzo, Churchill Square shopping centre director, said: “We are very pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile project and I cannot wait to see the response from our customers.”

Roger French, managing director of Brighton and Hove Bus Company, said: “We’re delighted to be helping to raise money for the Argus Appeal by once again selling the most wonderful Christmas cards, with some stunning photography, through our 1 Stop Travel shops and our head office reception in Conway Street, Hove.”

Michael Beard, editor of The Argus and chairman of the Appeal, said: “These Christmas cards help to raise money which the Argus Appeal will donate to worthy causes throughout the year, so every penny spent will be given back to the Sussex community.”
