A woman who was seriously injured in a crash on the A27 has died in hospital.
Hazel Morgan, 72, of Butts Lane, Eastbourne, was a backseat passenger in a Honda Jazz saloon car, which was travelling eastbound when it was involved in a four-car crash outside Middle Farm, Firle, at 3.30pm on Wednesday November 23.
Mrs Morgan died at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, on Sunday.
The 80-year-old Eastbourne man who was driving is still in Eastbourne District General Hospital (EDGH) with serious chest injuries.
The two passengers, a man aged 74, and a woman aged 83, both from Eastbourne, were treated in hospital for minor injuries.
A Vauxhall Insignia, Skoda Fabia and a Mazda 5 saloon were also involved in the pile-up.
The Insignia driver, a 55-year-old man, from Horsham, was treated at the Royal Sussex for slight neck injuries.
A 60-year old St Leonards man, driving the Mazda, was treated at the EDGH for minor injuries.
A woman, 47, driving the Fabia, was treated at the Royal Sussex for minor injuries.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Our inquiries into the crash are continuing and anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Enslow.”
