A festival of Japanese culture will return to a city.
The organisers of the Brighton Japan Festival are calling for sponsors to back the event, which will take place from June 22 to July 1.
The eight-day festival will include street theatre, music and food.
Event organiser Nicky Rohl, co-owner of Japanese restaurant Moshi Moshi in Bartholomews in Brighton, said: “Brighton Japan is unique in its ambition to offer an exciting platform for arts, technology design and business.
“It thinks big. I believe it can offer a genuinely creative and stimulating environment.”
He said a planned highlight of next year’s show is an appearance by Hatsune Miku, a singing synthesizer with a female personality.
Christian Hamilton, the brand manager at Asahi beer, said he was pleased to back the event.
He added: “Asahi was delighted to be the headline sponsor of Brighton Japan in 2011. It gave the Asahi brand great exposure and we will be involved again next year.”
