Libraries will be closed for much of the festive period.
Brighton and Hove City Council has confirmed that every library in the city will be shut every day except one between Christmas Eve and January 3.
A spokesman for the local authority said the libraries always close during this period with all staff on holiday between Christmas and New Year.
But some residents have asked why the public service is not available during the holidays when other council- run libraries in Sussex are.
West Sussex County Coun- cil’s libraries will be closed from Christmas Eve to December 27.
They will be open from December 28 to 31 before clos ing on January 1 and 2.
Those run by East Sussex County Council will also be shut on the same days
