The Conservatives have won a council by-election.
Graham Cox was elected in the Westbourne ward in the Brighton and Hove City Council by-election, sparked by the resignation of Conservative councillor Brian Oxley.
Labour's Nigel Jenner came second with the Green's Louisa Greenbaum coming third.
The seat was also contested by the Liberal Democrats, the Uk Independence Party, the European Citizens' Party and Trade Unionists and Socialists against the Cuts. The council said there was a 35% voting turn-out.
