A 24-year-old man was threatened and robbed as he walked home from a night out.

Two men engaged the victim in conversation in Queens Park Terrace, Brighton, before telling him they had a knife and would stab him if he did not hand over everything he had.

The man, from Brighton, was robbed of his coat, mobile phone and wallet at about 2.15am today..

He managed to run off and flag down a passing police car in Lewes Road. An area search was conducted but there was no trace of the suspects.

Detective Constable Graham Lewendon, from Brighton and Hove CID, said: “Although very shaken the victim was fortunately not injured.”

The men were white and aged 18 to 22. One was about 6ft, thin, with blond hair.

The other was 5ft 5, average build, with closely cropped dark hair. He was wearing a black jacket with a large white stripe down the front and carrying a white carrier bag with cans of Carlsberg lager.
