People looking for a fitness goal for 2012 are being asked to sign up for a charity's inaugural London to Brighton Challenge.
The Hunger Project's Team Hunger wants to enlist people for the 100km route walk from the capital to the coast.
It is hoped that people will raise crucial funds to support the project's aim to “halt global hunger in its tracks”.
It costs £75 to register, although registration cheapens depending on how many are in a team.
A charity spokesman said that while most people are expected to walk the 100km, some will jog parts, and a few “hardened types may even attempt to run it”. The charity will provide help along the route and in preparation for the challenge.
The spokesman said: "However you decide to take on the London 2 Brighton Challenge it will be a definitive test of endurance, determination, and teamwork.
“We ask you to raise £375 per person for our programmes across Africa, South Asia and Latin America, helping those living on less than 80p a day with a hand up.”
The challenge, billed as “a journey you won't forget”, will take place on May 12 and 13 starting at London's Richmond Park.
