A man who is alleged to have stabbed another man in the throat will appear in court this morning.
The 41-year-old victim was attacked in Three Bridges Road, Crawley, at about 8pm on Wednesday.
Five men were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Tommy Smith, 39, of Barley Close, Crawley, has been charged with wounding with intent and will appear at Mid Sussex Magistrates' Court, Haywards Heath, this morning.
A 21-year-old man from Crawley, a 41-year-old man from Croydon and two men, aged 41 and 51, of no fixed address, have all been bailed until February 6.
Police are still appealing for information and witnesses to call 101 quoting serial 1364 of December 28 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
