A Muslim free school could be built in Brighton and Hove.
Plans for the secondary are in the early stages and it is not known if a site for the school has yet been found.
Under Department for Education rules, the school could admit up to half of students to the free school based on their faith.
If the school is oversubscribed half the pupils must be admitted without reference to faith.
It is one of three proposed free schools, the other two being King’s School and the Bilingual Spanish Free School.
