New venues will be popping up at this year’s Fringe.
The Fringe’s first ever dedicated family venue, the Hurly Burly will take up residence in the front garden of St Peter’s Church.
Child-friendly shows will take place during the day, with more adult-orientated work in the evenings.
Artistic director, Mella Faye Punchard, said the venue will feature live performances and sculptures made from recycled objects by Circus Kinetica.
She said: “The artists will appeal mainly, but not exclusively, to families with young children.”
Six custom-built Victorian bathing machines will be positioned at the West Pier, the Fishing Museum, New Road, Brighton Station, Churchill Square and St Peter’s Church.
The venues will feature puppet shows, audio and live performances, galleries and a camera obscura.
Other new venues include The Warren on the site of The Wagner Hall in West Street. It will host an accessible programme, which the organiser hopes will open up free performances to new audiences.
