The normal response to a concert review you disagree with is, "we couldn't have been at the same concert". However, from Bella Todd's description of Kate Rusby's show at the Dome (The Argus, September 22), we were in the same audience but it would seem Kate Rusby was too perfect.
Does Bella Todd really believe that, to win the Radio 2 best live act award, you need bedside manner and not stage presence? If so, someone ought to tell the judges of that competition.
She sarcastically singles out the musicians for: "getting every single note just right".
I thought that's what we went to hear. I did and, what's more, I enjoyed the show. I'm sure most other people did, too, from the comments I overhead.
Next time Bella goes to see someone she'd rather not see, she might want to use the old classic: "for people who like this sort of thing, this is the sort of thing they'll like" - and leave it at that.
