THE BODY of a man has been pulled out of the sea near Worthing Pier.
Two jet skiers spotted the body floating about half a mile west of the pier at about 12.30pm yesterday (Sunday March 26).
Shoreham lifeboat crews were called to the area and recovered the body of a man in his 60s.
A spokeswoman for Shoreham RNLI said: “They launched and found two jet skiers with the body of a man aged in his 60s in the water.
“He was recovered by the crew before being transferred to the all-weather lifeboat and taken back to the lifeboat station. The body was then transferred to the police and coroner’s officer who were waiting at the boathouse.”
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said the man had not yet been identified, and the circumstances around his death are still unknown, although they do not believe his death was suspicious.
