A £20 million observation platform which will soar 577ft above Brighton seafront has today won planning permission.
Councillors gave their support to the i360 at a planning meeting in Hove Town Hall this afternoon.
The structure will be built on the seafront at the end of the derelict West Pier.
It is being developed by the same company behind the London Eye and it is hoped the platform will become an iconic part of the city's skyline.
Up to 500,000 visitors a year are expected to attend the attraction.
