Water has been restored to a hospital.

The mains water supply at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath was out-of-action for around three hours this morning.

A problem was reported with the main water tanks which were not refilling and water ran out at around 10am.

South East Water have set up a temporary water supply on the site in the last hour while additional water bottles have been supplied to patients.

A Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Hospitals Trust spokeswoman said that the 12 elective operations due to take place this afternoon will still go ahead.

Water supplies at the Sussex Orthopaedic Centre and Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre which are on the same site were unaffected.
