Pop star Gary Numan has spoken about his decision to have a facelift – and says he would have another if necessary.

The Eighties star, best known for his synth hits Cars and Are Friends Electric, has also had five hair transplants to help maintain his image.

Gary, 54, lives in Waldron, near Uckfield, with wife Gemma and their three daughters Raven, Echo and Persia.

In an interview with a national newspaper he said he did not have the facelift done out of vanity but because in his job, looks are important.

He said his facelift had involved a cut right under the ear and then the muscles were moved back and reattached.

He said he had been really pleased with the results.

Gary said: “It's amazing. I was getting a bit saggy and jowly – I am again, come to think of it, I’ll have to have it redone.”

He told the newspaper that having the hair transplants, which he admitted were more down to vanity, had been really painful but worth doing.
