Australian musician Nick Cave was the guest star at the premiere of Lawless in Brighton.

The Duke of York’s hosted a special preview screening of the film, which stars Tom Hardy, Guy Pierce, Shia LaBeouf and Gary Oldman.

Nick Cave wrote the screenplay for the movie based on the novel by Matt Bondurant and also wrote an original score.

It is set in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, where a bootlegging gang is threatened by authorities wanting a cut of their profits.

The musician appeared at the Preston Circus cinema last night (September 5) along with director John Hillcoat for a question and answer session with the select audience.
